Come dance with us! The UNK Sapphires will teach and enhance dance technique and fundamentals during this four day camp. Cool hit-music will be used to learn fun and exciting routines. Zumba Kids is a specially designed class for children. It incorporates the Zumba® Fitness concept with kid friendly songs, routines and games to promote coordination, balance, discipline, creativity, pride, confidence and a healthy lifestyle. Calling all young artists! Come and create three new masterpieces to take home;new projects will be introduced each week! You will learn the FUNdamentals of art while you explore drawing, painting, collage, and more! Certified K-12 Art Teacher, Becki Evers, will help the young artist explore their creativity and gain artistic knowledge and the benefits of self-expression. Archers Approach The Line! It is time to shoot. In the two day camp we will cover basic instruction & safety, and the participants will get to shoot at various types of targets. We will also have lots of other fun non-archery shooting activities. Tuesday class will meet at the Harmon Park Activity Center Multipurpose Room. Wednesday class will meet at the Outdoor Archery Range at Meadowlark North Park.

Experience The Archway! Kids will tour the Archway Exhibit, make their way through the maze, go fishing, take home their own gems/fossils from their mining adventure, explore the natural habitat on scavenger hunts, feed the fish and more! Enjoy all that the beautiful Archway has to offer. This program includes arts and crafts, inside and outside games and more!

101121 - Climbing Class

Rock climbing is not only thrilling, but it builds strength, endurance, and confidence! Participants will learn climbing safety and basic climbing techniques through fun and challenging instruction and games.

Septemeber 14 will be led by experienced KPR Climbing Instructors at the Harmon Park Activity Center utilizing the traverse wall.

September 21 will be led by certified UNK Instructors at the University of Nebraska Kearney Wellness Center utilizing the new Climbing Rock Wall.

101122 - Escape Room

Are you up to the challenge? We will put our minds and skills to the test by creating our own escape room blueprint and playing tricky brain games. We will be challenged to solve puzzles, crack codes and fnd clues before time runs out in our very own Harmon Park Activity Center Escape Room. The registration deadline is Monday, September 16.

Celebrate the middle of summer at Harmon Park! The day at Harmon will include a trip to the pool, adventures through the rock garden, a mid-afternoon snack, games, and more! Harmon Park Activity Center Children’s Room.

Enjoy all the adventures that Harmon Park has to offer! Our talented sta? will lead the young adventurers through the rock garden, play different games on the sport fields, go to the pool, do skits at the amphitheater, and much more! Fun activities include swimming, sports, traverse climbing, arts and crafts, and group games. On Thursday, campers will have fun preparing their skits, enjoying an evening meal and staying at the park until 9:00pm.

101125 - CAMP HARMON

Finish summer strong at “Camp Harmon! Each day will include fun activities such as swimming at Harmon Pool, group activities, and some of the wildest games you have ever played! On Thursday, kids will spend the night for a lock-in at the Harmon Park Activity Center. A Thursday evening meal will be provided, as well as a light breakfast on Friday. Class is M-W from 1:30 -4:30 pm. Thursday is 1:30 pm to Friday at 8:00 am. Harmon Park Activity Center Multi-purpose Basement.

101126 - KIDS ON THE MOVE

We never stop moving in this popular class! Each day we will be introduced to a different type of fitness class as well as participating in activities such as softball, swimming, frisbee, volleyball, relays, and more. In fact, we are going to take it a step further by wearing Step Counters to measure our movement. 102216 - Tennis for Kids w/ Disability

Mustregister at least 7 days in advance. Please include any special information we need to know on the registrationform. This program is designed for kids with cognitive / developmental disabilities. As needed, each participant will be paired with a volunteer or KPR coach. The focus will be on skill development and developing a love for tennis. Drills, contests, and games will be included.

102221 - U11-U14 Soccer League

Seven practices / games.Ted Baldwin Park. U11-U14, boys and girls, born between 1/1/06-12/31/09.
This program will focus on skill development, building player confidence, healthy competition, sportsmanship, and teamwork in a high energy, positive and organized atmosphere. The first 30-45 minutes will be utilized for warm-up, fundamental drills, and team practice. Games will be scheduled during the remaining time. A tournament will be conducted at the end of the season.

Hired Park and Recreation coaches will lead the teams. Shinguards are mandatory and must be covered by a sock. Players should wear soccer or tennis shoes only with rubber soles/cleats. All players will receive a team t-shirt.

102224 - Adult Tennis League

Each week of the season a player will have one opponent. It is up to the players to contact each other and determine where and when they will play. Matches can be played at any available tennis court. Scoring will be best 2-of-3 sets with ad scoring. Players must supply their own racquet and balls. Participants are guaranteed a minimum of 6 matches. A post-season tournament will be conducted. All participants will receive a KPR Tennis T shirt (please include size when registering). The “A” league is more competitive players and the “B” league is for intermediate/ recreational players. Leagues may be combined depending on number of participants. Men and Women will be combined. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Monday, June 24.

102226 - TINY KICKERS 4yr olds

This program provides a great first exposure to the exciting sport of soccer. Vibrant coaches will creatively teach soccer fundamentals and team play during practice and games. All kids will be placed on a coached team and will receive a Tiny Kickers T-shirt as well as a soccer drawstring bag. Your son or daughter will be part of the Light Blue Lizards, the Green Grasshoppers or any of our fun teams!

Ages 16 & older. Pickleball continues to grow in popularity around the country and we have a league for you in Kearney! Competitive and Recreation divisions will be available. Participants are guaranteed a minimum of matches, which includes a single-elimination post season tournament. Double headers will be scheduled when possible. Equipment is provided if needed. Held at Horizon Middle School. Deadline Wednesday, September 4.

102230 - 4on4 Flag Football

Unique rules allow for exciting play and fast-paced action without contact! Two Park & Recreation field officials will be provided. Teams will get a minimum of 6 games, which includes a round robin season and a post-season tournament. Depending on the number of teams registered, "A"and "B" skill level divisions will be formed. *Times are subject to slight change depending on the number of teams registered.*

Sundays (12:30 pm-3:30 pm) & Wednesdays (6:00 pm-9:00 pm) Occasional Thursday evenings possible.

The deadline to register your team is August 30.

102237 - 4on4 Basketball

Age18 & older. Horizon Middle School. This call-your-own-foul league provides a great opportunity to stay in shape while playing in a relaxed environment. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of seven games. The league is limited in size, so don’t wait to register!

102239 - Girls Volleyball

Seven sessions. Horizon Middle School. This program is noted for having a high level of enthusiasm, great organization, and a focus on proper skill development. In a player-centered environment, the emphasis is put on increasing player confdence, building on the enjoyment of the sport, healthy competition, and creating a positive team atmosphere. Players will be placed on teams, with practices and games scheduled each day. Hired Park and Recreation coaches will lead the teams along with full-time KPR sta?. All players will receive a team dri-ft shirt. The first practice for all grades is Saturday, September 21. *The times are subject to slight change depending on the number of participants. A reminder will be mailed to all participants by Sept. 20 regarding the fnal schedule.

102242 - SOCCER CAMP 3rd-6th grade

Learn from three great area coaches in this fun-filled camp! Kearney High School Boys Varsity Soccer Coach, Scott Steinbrook, will lead the first day. Kearney High School Girls Varsity Soccer Coach, Lerrin Rowe, will lead the second day. University of Nebraska-Kearney Head Women’s Soccer Coach, Chloe Roberts, will lead the last day. Additionally, current and former players and assistant coaches from these respective teams will also help. The camp, for girls and boys, will focus on all aspects of soccer and will include drills, contests and small-sided games. All participants need to bring a soccer ball with their name on it, and wear proper soccer attire. Recreational and competitive coaches are welcome to attend. The registration deadline is Wednesday, July 17.
