    107001 - Lifeguard Certification

    This is an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification class and provides all the certifications needed to be a lifeguard this summer. Participants must attend all the classes in the session, successfully pass all the requirements, and be at least 15 years of age by the last day of the class to earn the certification. A reminder letter with the class schedule, class requirements, and supply list will be sent out before the start of the class. Classes held at Kearney High School.

    201121 - Equine Empowerment

    Boys and girls will have the opportunity to learn from horses how to navigate kindness in a world that can be very much unkind. The focus is learning and developing critical social and behavioral skills while interacting with horses in on-the-ground activities No riding will take place and trained sta? will be assisting with horses. Target skills will include trust, inclusion, and communication Participants must wear closed-toed shoes (boots) and parents/ guardians must sign a release of liability on the day of. Facilitated by Nancy Lyon, certifed K-12 school counselor and Eagala Certifed Equine Specialist. Classes will be held at BraveHearts Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning , 3135 West 22ndStreet.

    Three practices / games. Horizon Middle School. Second and Third grade boys and girls will be introduced to the game of basketball by participating in a variety of creative drills, games, and contests. The basic rules of the game will be taught as well as the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, and defense. Participants will play games, but will not be placed on set teams. Every player will receive a Hoop Camp shirt. This camp is sure to be a ball!

    202210 - Soccer U11-U14

    Seven practices / games.Ted Baldwin Park. U11-U14, boys and girls, born between 1/1/06-12/31/09.
    This program will focus on skill development, building player confidence, healthy competition, sportsmanship, and teamwork in a high energy, positive and organized atmosphere. The first 30-45 minutes will be utilized for warm-up, fundamental drills, and team practice. Games will be scheduled during the remaining time. A tournament will be conducted at the end of the season.

    Hired Park and Recreation coaches will lead the teams. Shinguards are mandatory and must be covered by a sock. Players should wear soccer or tennis shoes only with rubber soles/cleats. All players will receive a team t-shirt.

    202214 - Start Smart BB/SB

    The START SMART Sports Development and Baseball / Softball program brings parents and children together to have fun and practice fundamental skills in a positive environment. This instructional program teaches parents how to best practice sport skills with their children, and help give them a positive and successful start in sports. START SMART utilizes the unique line of Koosh products, which have been proven to be safe in developing motor skills in children. All participants will receive a START SMART manual and a certificate of completion. Endorsed by the National Alliance for Youth Sports.
