    Archers Approach The Line! It is time to shoot. In the two day camp we will cover basic instruction & safety, and the participants will get to shoot at various types of targets.     101121 - Climbing Class

    Rock climbing is not only thrilling, but it builds strength, endurance, and confidence! Participants will learn climbing safety and basic climbing techniques through fun and challenging instruction and games.

    Septemeber 14 will be led by experienced KPR Climbing Instructors at the Harmon Park Activity Center utilizing the traverse wall.

    September 21 will be led by certified UNK Instructors at the University of Nebraska Kearney Wellness Center utilizing the new Climbing Rock Wall.

    Finish summer strong at “Camp Harmon! Each day will include fun activities such as swimming at Harmon Pool, group activities, and some of the wildest games you have ever played! On Thursday, kids will spend the night for a lock-in at the Harmon Park Activity Center. A Thursday evening meal will be provided, as well as a light breakfast on Friday.     102221 - U11-U14 Soccer League

    Seven practices / games.Ted Baldwin Park. U11-U14, boys and girls, born between 1/1/06-12/31/09.
    This program will focus on skill development, building player confidence, healthy competition, sportsmanship, and teamwork in a high energy, positive and organized atmosphere. The first 30-45 minutes will be utilized for warm-up, fundamental drills, and team practice. Games will be scheduled during the remaining time. A tournament will be conducted at the end of the season.

    Hired Park and Recreation coaches will lead the teams. Shinguards are mandatory and must be covered by a sock. Players should wear soccer or tennis shoes only with rubber soles/cleats. All players will receive a team t-shirt.

    102224 - Adult Tennis League

    Each week of the season a player will have one opponent. It is up to the players to contact each other and determine where and when they will play. Matches can be played at any available tennis court. Scoring will be best 2-of-3 sets with ad scoring. Players must supply their own racquet and balls. Participants are guaranteed a minimum of 6 matches. A post-season tournament will be conducted. All participants will receive a KPR Tennis T shirt (please include size when registering). The “A” league is more competitive players and the “B” league is for intermediate/ recreational players. Leagues may be combined depending on number of participants. Men and Women will be combined. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Monday, June 24.

    Unique rules allow for exciting play and fast-paced action without contact! Two Park & Recreation field officials will be provided. Teams will get a minimum of 6 games, which includes a round robin season and a post-season tournament. Depending on the number of teams registered, "A"and "B" skill level divisions will be formed. *Times are subject to slight change depending on the number of teams registered.*

    Sundays (12:30 pm-3:30 pm) & Wednesdays (6:00 pm-9:00 pm) Occasional Thursday evenings possible.

    102239 - Girls Volleyball

    Seven sessions. Horizon Middle School. This program is noted for having a high level of enthusiasm, great organization, and a focus on proper skill development. In a player-centered environment, the emphasis is put on increasing player confdence, building on the enjoyment of the sport, healthy competition, and creating a positive team atmosphere. Players will be placed on teams, with practices and games scheduled each day. Hired Park and Recreation coaches will lead the teams along with full-time KPR sta?. All players will receive a team dri-ft shirt. The first practice for all grades is Saturday, September 21. *The times are subject to slight change depending on the number of participants. A reminder will be mailed to all participants by Sept. 20 regarding the fnal schedule.

    102242 - SOCCER CAMP 3rd-6th grade

    Learn from three great area coaches in this fun-filled camp! Kearney High School Boys Varsity Soccer Coach, Scott Steinbrook, will lead the first day. Kearney High School Girls Varsity Soccer Coach, Lerrin Rowe, will lead the second day. University of Nebraska-Kearney Head Women’s Soccer Coach, Chloe Roberts, will lead the last day. Additionally, current and former players and assistant coaches from these respective teams will also help. The camp, for girls and boys, will focus on all aspects of soccer and will include drills, contests and small-sided games. All participants need to bring a soccer ball with their name on it, and wear proper soccer attire. Recreational and competitive coaches are welcome to attend. The registration deadline is Wednesday, July 17.
