    201118 - Indoor Archery

    Take aim on this program! The camp will be led by KPR certified archery instructors.

    Beginner Class: Basic instruction and safety will be covered before participants get to shoot at various targets.

    Intermediate Class: For those who have previously completed two or more KPR Archery Camps. Focus will be on developing better shooting technique with more repetition at various targets. Targets, Genesis bows and arrows will be supplied.

    201121 - Climbing Class

    Rock climbing is not only thrilling, but it builds strength, endurance, and confidence! Participants will learn climbing safety and basic climbing techniques through fun and challenging instruction and games.

    September 15 will be led by experienced KPR Climbing Instructors at the Harmon Park Activity Center utilizing the traverse wall.

    September 22 will be led by certified UNK Instructors at the University of Nebraska Kearney Wellness Center utilizing the new Climbing Rock Wall.

    201122 - Generation Fit

    This program is designed for children to learn theimportance of leading an active and healthy lifestyle. Participants will develop self-discipline, self-confdence, and enhance the will and determination to reach individual goals. Physical training will consist of various calisthenics, mile and two mile runs, sprints, obstacle course & more! Intellectual training is designed around developing a great attitude, focus and behavior. Various health topics will be discussed throughout the course as well. Students from U.N.K, pursuing degrees in Exercise Science, Physical Education and Recreation will lead the class. Harmon Park Activity Center

Second and Third grade boys and girls will be introduced to the game of basketball by participating in a variety of creative drills, games, and contests. The basic rules of the game will be taught as well as the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, and defense. Participants will play games, but will not be placed on set teams. Every player will receive a Hoop Camp shirt. This camp is sure to be a ball!

    The START SMART Sports Developmentand Baseball / Softball program brings parents and children together to have fun and practice fundamental skills in a positive environment. This instructional program teaches parents how to best practice sport skills with their children, and help give them a positive and successful start in sports. START SMART utilizes the unique line of Koosh products, which have been proven to be safe in developing motor skills in children. All participants will receive a START SMART manual and a certificate
    of completion. Endorsed by the National Alliance for Youth Sports.

    Meets Saturday, December 1 and December 8 from 6pm-7pm.

    Meets Tuesday, December 4 and December 11 from 11am-12pm.

    This program is designed to get participants walking (or running!). Check-in at the Viaero Center any day Monday-Friday between 8:30am-3:30pm and record your laps. Participants will be notifed of certain days where guest speakers will come in and discuss various topics that will assist you with your ftness journey. All participants will receive a shirt and are asked to attend the frst day, Monday, October 15th, at 8:30am at the Viaero Center to go over details of the program and receive your long sleeve t-shirt. Random prizes will be given away every other week to people who record a certain number of laps every two weeks.

    202218 - Gentle Flow

    Open to all levels of practice and abilities (must be able to move from the ?oor to standing) and is especially great for beginners or those searching for the therapeutic benefts of yoga and mindfulness. This soothing gentle practice focuses on moving into basic yoga poses while using the breath as a tool to remain present and mindful. The pace of this allows you to enjoy each pose. Expect lots of stretching and lengthening with a heavy dose of relaxation and some aromatherapy to wrap up your practice. Leave feeling great and energized for the Holidays. Class is taught by Beth Reynolds-Lewis, certifed Yoga Teacher and registered instructor with the Yoga Alliance.
